This editor pass focused on a practical problem: too much space was being spent on controls, leaving too little room for assets, hierarchy, and the canvas itself.
Making room for the work
The earlier interface used generous spacing that looked comfortable in isolation but made the actual workspace feel smaller. Asset controls consumed vertical room, and the layer hierarchy could not show enough of the project structure at once.
The June pass treated density as a usability tool rather than a visual style. The goal was to keep the canvas visible while making more of the project available at a glance.
The layout pass
- Text and spacing were reduced to give the editor a more compact production-tool rhythm.
- Left-side icon tabs were reorganized around Assets, Appearance, Transform, and Pattern work.
- Asset Browser controls became shorter so more artwork could remain visible.
- The right column was simplified so Layer Hierarchy could become its main focus.
- Panel resizing was improved to make the workspace easier to adapt.
What carried forward
The current editor has evolved again since this post, but the same principle remains: controls should support the artwork instead of crowding it. The present layout continues to separate the live canvas, generation results, and layer structure into readable working regions.
