Permutrix Local Data Notice
Notice version: 2026-09-09.3
Effective date: 2026-09-09
This notice describes local data behavior in Permutrix Desktop 1.2.2. The Store licensing and Microsoft Store update sections below apply to Microsoft Store editions that provide those features. They do not mean that older standalone editions or the web demo use the same local files or features. For personal-data processing relating to purchases, licenses, support, and external services, also consult the Permutrix Privacy Policy and the relevant store or service notices. It does not replace the privacy, payment, refund, or support notice shown by the seller or sales platform for a purchase or support request.

Data stored on the device
Permutrix Desktop can be used without an account, and this build does not include analytics, advertising, or diagnostic telemetry operated by Permutrix. The app may store the following information locally in its dedicated browser profile:
- the accepted terms version and acceptance time;
- interface preferences such as language, theme, and panel layout;
- the recent-project list and permission handles used to revisit folders selected by the user;
- a recovery project.json snapshot for unsaved work;
- temporary render caches used for previews and full-quality exports; and
- browser cache and storage state needed by the app.
The project folder’s project.json, assets, and _working_cache, and user exports, are stored in external folders selected by the user. Downloaded files are stored in the operating system’s download location.
Store license data
The free experience does not require creating a Permutrix account. To activate, maintain, and restore purchased Pro access, the Store edition may keep a randomly generated installation identifier, activation binding value, license token, last-check time and state, and the identifier and expiry of a pending recovery request in an encrypted app-data file separate from browser storage. This installation identifier is not a raw hardware serial number.
The purchase email and the plaintext one-time verification code entered by the user are not saved in this local license file. During purchase, recovery, and status checks, the email, verification code, installation identifier, and activation or recovery identifiers needed for the relevant operation may be sent to the licensing or payment service. Projects and image files are not transmitted for license verification. See the Privacy Policy for server-side processing and retention details.
Server processing and automatic access updates
The Store licensing API and database use Cloudflare. Purchases, restoration and status checks may process the necessary purchase email, customer and transaction identifiers, installation and authorization binding information, and payment, refund or chargeback status. Cloudflare Email Service processes the recipient address, message body containing the verification code, subject and sending/delivery information for recovery emails. Storing a code hash in the authorization database does not mean that no copies of the sent message body are retained anywhere.
Cloudflare Email preview is currently enabled for our sending domain. Message bodies sent while enabled are retained for preview for approximately seven days. Expiry or use of a verification code does not immediately delete the email body.
We use Cloudflare Workers Logs to operate and troubleshoot the website and licensing service. Collected logs, including request times, request URLs and execution status, are retained within that logging service for up to seven days under our current Workers Paid plan. This period is not a deletion deadline for the purchase/licensing database, separately copied logs or backups, email delivery/security records, or copies in the recipient's mailbox.
The licensing system automatically checks completed purchases, approved full refunds or chargebacks, and the validity of authorization credentials to update Pro access. If you believe access was restricted in error or wish to challenge the outcome, contact obistru@gmail.com for an explanation and human review. Permutrix does not use purchase or support information for advertising targeting. Applicable data-protection rights remain unaffected.
See https://permutrix.com/legal/privacy for details of processing countries, retention periods and personal-data rights. This local-data notice does not replace that Privacy Policy.
Microsoft Store update checks
After the app's legal-document confirmation flow, periodically while in use, or when the user requests a check, the Store edition may use Microsoft Store functionality to query whether an update is available for its installed package. This feature does not upload projects or images to Permutrix servers. The latest check result and the decision to view a notification later are kept in the running app's memory.
The app's update notice does not itself download or install updates or restart the app. Microsoft Store's automatic-update settings and installation behavior are separate. Microsoft's privacy statement applies to information it processes for Store services.
Reset Permutrix app data
“Reset Permutrix App Data” in Help deletes the following data from the dedicated Permutrix profile:
- the terms acceptance record;
- recent projects and stored folder permissions;
- the autosave recovery snapshot;
- theme, language, layout, and other app preferences;
- IndexedDB render and export caches;
- web cache, cookies, service workers, and app-private filesystem state for the Permutrix session; and
- project and download-location capabilities held in memory by the running app.
The reset does not delete or modify:
- external project folders or their project.json, assets, or _working_cache;
- user-selected export folders or exported images, ZIP, or PSD files;
- the Downloads folder or files already downloaded;
- the Permutrix executable, user documents, or another app’s data; or
- sales-platform order, payment, or refund records, or support messages sent separately by the user.
Any save, import, generation, or export operation must finish before reset. If there are unsaved edits, the confirmation screen identifies that they will be discarded. After a successful reset, the app reloads and asks for assent to the license terms again.
Help-menu app-data reset and licensing
“Reset Permutrix App Data” in Help deletes the browser preferences, assent record, recovery snapshots, caches, and in-memory folder capabilities listed in this notice. It does not delete the Store edition's separate encrypted license file or installation identifier. Reset alone does not surrender valid Pro access or refund or cancel a purchase. Subsequent license checks may reflect the purchase's payment, refund, or dispute status.
This reset also does not delete external project folders, exported files, or server records held by sales, licensing, or support services. Operating-system app Reset, uninstall, or user-account deletion may have a different scope. For requests to delete server-side personal data relating to purchases or licenses, use the contact and rights-request procedure in the Privacy Policy.
Reset is not a secure erasure of copies held by operating-system backups, synchronization services, recovery areas, or sales and support systems. Those copies must be managed separately through the relevant operating system, service, or sales channel.
