In late June, Permutrix announced that future updates would move away from itch.io as the product grew into a more focused visual-creation tool. That plan was later superseded by the August 1.2.1 relaunch, but the announcement remains part of the project history.

Why a move was announced

At the time, Permutrix was becoming more centered on layered artwork, reusable assets, and artist workflows. The project seemed to need a distribution home that communicated that direction more clearly than its early indie-tool page.

Keeping the early history

The announcement did not erase the itch.io page or existing downloads. It treated the page as an archive and thanked the community that followed the earliest public builds.

What happened next

The move was not permanent. Permutrix Desktop 1.2.1 returned to itch.io on August 15 with a rebuilt package, clearer product language, purchase information, and the new official website. Current availability should always be checked on the Get Permutrix page.
